Holiday Gift Guide For Kids: gifts to get your kids thinking and to get them up & moving

There have been two sweet boys in our house who are on Santa’s good list this year.  And Santa, himself has been choosing just the right gifts for these boys, gifts that get them on their feet and outside or using their imaginations.  Here are some fabulous gift ideas for the kiddos on your list.  Click the pictures for links to the toys.

The Tot Tube Playset by Inspiration Play

Last year our youngest, age four at the time received this Tot Tube.  both my boys love to play with it!  Sending balls and cars down the tube will keep your kiddo busy for quite some time.  My boys especially like to make slo-mo videos on my phone of cars flying down the tube!

It is on sale right now on Amazon for $19.95 and it is a Prime item!

Two Bros Bows

Shhh…don’t tell but my boys will be getting these for Christmas!  I first saw these at Patina in Minneapolis, but you can find them on Amazon and the Two Bros Bows website.  What I love most about these safe & durable bow and arrow sets are the that they were developed and made by two brothers who were just 7 & 10 when they came up with their cool idea!

Snap Circuits

Last year my older son, age eight at the time, received this circuit and he loves it.  I highly recommend this for any child who loves to build, tinker, and loves to know the why and how about how switches, machines etc. operate.

Ninja Slack Lines

I think just about any kid would like to have Ninja abilities!  My nieces have a ninja obstacle course in their yard and it is a big hit, and so, this is on my boys’ wish list!   It is a perfect gift to get the kids outside and moving!

Star Wars BB8 Mega Playset

Let me tell you, there will be two very happy boys Christmas morning!  We have quite a collection of Star Wars toys vintage and new that my boys play with all the time.  They saw this in the store and thought it was so cool!  It happens to be on sale right now on Amazon!

Little Bits

Droid Inventor Kit

For any kiddo that has an interest in engineering, robotics, machines, tinkering etc., the Droid Inventor Kit is super cool!  At school my son has been working on coding and robotics and this would definitely interest him!

KiwiCo

Give the gift of a subscription.  Who doesn’t love getting something in the mail?  KiwiCo offers you age appropriate hands on learning and experienced based play delivered to your child every month

For my five year old son, he would receive maker kit with art, science, or engineering easy instructions and additional online activities.  While for my nine year old, I could choose between an art & design box or a science & engineering box.  I know he would gravitate toward the tinkering, science & engineering box with STEM projects!

Cannot wait to here what some of your favorite gift ideas are for kiddos that will get them using their mind or getting them up & moving outside….please share in the comments!
